Bombay Talkies (2013) -movie preview

Bombay Talkies (2013) -movie preview

Bombay Talkies (movie) : un-viewed preview

Dibakar Banerjee -the unbeatable (yet). Unless there is Rakysh Om Prakash Mehra , but only if he is with another Rang De Basanti, Dibakar Banerjee is unbeatable. He is unique and 'the most intelligentperson' in/around/from bollywood.

Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra has proved with Rang De Basanti that he doesn't only speak, think and talk great & inspirational but can also present to us  his greatness with extremely beautiful cinematic masterpiece. But, since he is in experimental phase, one can't certainly say whatever he makes, it will always seem beautiful, interesting and inspirational. So, here, Dibakar Banerjee beats Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra. But unfortunately, although Dibakar speaks real -in it's extremity, the mass which gets entertained with his films contains very few peoples and this is why his movies don't fit properly in 'box office' & '100-crore' type of vessels and seem bit or very thin.

But I'm not here to compare Dibakar Banerjee and Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra, they are un-comparable because they are quite unique but different -one speaks real and another inspirational. Both of them are very talented film-makers, so un-comparable.

 But since there is no Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra in Bombay Talkies, Dibakar Banerjee is the ultimate and sure winner. None of other three: Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar and Joya Akhtar can compete with him. If i have to rank these four story-tellers then I would say Dibakar first and Anurag second. I was thinking of keeping both Karan and Joya in tie until the movie releases but then i thought about Joya's last movie 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' -a complete BAKAWAS movie(?) with no story at all, i think of keeping Karan in third position, Joya ultimately the fourth.

Because Dibakar is unbeatable, because he is the most intelligent  person in bollywood (currently in Bombay Talkies among four), because he is a genius and a great human being, because making Bombay Talkies is what he has already done (LSD), because it is his method of telling stories and because he is creative: he is gonna beat all other three- Anurag, Karan and Joya. and stand at first place being his story the best among four.

Because Anurag Kashyap has proved that he can film real incidents and present to us as beautiful movies (eg; Black Friday & Gangs of Wasseypur) and because his part of story seems to be a boy's (probably his own story while he was entering Bombay) 'journey to bollywood' story ( as i saw in promos and as i heard him in press while talking about Bombay Talkies), he deserves the second position and so does his story.

Because Karan Johar is getting consistently emptier of stories while ariving to 'Students of the Year', because he had no money and no time (because of 1.5 crore & 20 min boundary) he might have failed to prescribe his formula as a short story , because he doesn't know what to do  and if knows what to do, surely doesn't know how to do it- because it is not what he has been doing in his career and because Bombay Talkies is experimental to him; he deserves the third position.

Because Joya doesn't deserve to be in between the other three story-tellers (since her laste movie ZNMD didn't even qualify to be a movie because it didn't even have a story). Because i doubt she will tell any story in those 20 minutes, and because she doesn't have enough practice of even writing stories and telling them in 'pictures with motion', she probably will be at the fourth position.

Competition would be more tougher and the '100 year of bollywood' celebration would be more beautiful if there was Raj Kumar Hirani instead of Joya Akhtar.

About a bit bitter words while describing Karan and Joya- i don't mean to disrespect them, i'm just telling how we see them as storyteller while we see them through their own movies.

This preview is based completely on what all of the four story-teller have done previous, what type of story they have told us and how they have told their story. Hence it might actually be a ranking of four story-tellers in an order instead of any kind of preview of any movie. So, i hope all four short-stories in 'Bombay Talkies' be great. I hope Dibakar's story will proove my words, Anurag will compete with Dibakar with his story, Karan and Joya will prove me wrong with very beautifully told beautiful stories; i hope!

 Lastly;

            This article is written by a boy who thinks Rang De Basanti is the best inspirational indian cinema ever made, 'Pather Panchali' is the best realistic cinema of whole world (i'm not gonna debate with those who say the same about 'The Bicycle Thief', i'll explain about it later in another article), who enjoys Requiem for a Dream, A Beautiful Mind, Into the Wild, Fight Club type of movies and says Shawshank Redemption is the best movies ever made. Since Albert Einstein has already said that even time is relative (i do not beleive him in respect of time's relativity though, but argue and debate on this) velocity of light being the only un-relative (i disagree with him here too), this 'best' of movies surely differs in every person's view. So those who enjoy Rowdy Rathore, and Avengers will not agree with my openion about all four  story-tellers. Even their openion might be exactly the opposite. But i have nothing to say with any others as i have already stated about the relativity of things, perspectives, opinions & beleives about good, bad, best and worst.

Note:

Since 'a director' is just another technician but with major responsibilities of managing the film making process (telling actors/actresses, camera person and all crew what they have to do and how to do it), the person who writes story/screenplay for a movie determines the fate of story told in moving pictures- either it will be a Ready, Bodyguard, Singham, Student of the Year or a Shanghai, Black Friday, Love aaj-kal, Rang De Basanti; i have used the term 'story-teller' instead of director.
